Overview

TACTICS VR has been created by the Centre for Advanced Training Systems at The University of Newcastle in collaboration with leading public sector clinicians across Australia. Each module has had extensive input from leading clinicians that are recognised to be leading subject matter experts in their area. ATS works with subject matter experts to distil knowledge into discrete learning objectives and integrate these into highly interactive VR training modules. 

Clinicians and their host organisations donate their time to the development of the modules.  The modules are then provided to hospitals across the country using a non-for-profit model, where funds support maintenance and ongoing development of the platforms.

All content is developed and approved by the TACTICS Stroke VR Clinical Governance Group, which consists of Dr Carlos Garcia-Esperon; Professor Neil Spratt; Professor Chris Levi; Michelle Russell; and Christine Selmes.

The content experts and contributors for each of training modules are listed below.

All modules have also undergone extensive research and evaluation, which is summarised in the Research section.

All TACTICS VR modules are reviewed and endorsed by the appropriate peak educational bodies; these being the Australian Stroke Nurse Educator Network (ASNEN), the Australasian Stroke Academy and NSW Ambulance. Copies of these endorsements can be provided on request.
